Privacy Policy
Your privacy is extremely important to us. To better protect you, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.
Onop AI, Inc. - Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 5, 2024
Onop AI, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect the information you provide while using the Onop App (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
The Onop App is designed to collect data to help automate task tracking for software developers. We collect the following information:
- Screenshots: The App captures screenshots of your active desktop or work session. Additionally, we use this data to improve our AI models. While you cannot opt out of this feature in the current beta version, the data is used strictly for model training. For initial quality control, humans may review low-resolution versions of these screenshots as part of a manual data quality screening process.
- Metadata: We may collect metadata, such as timestamps of screenshots, to improve task analysis and summarization.
- User-Provided Data: If you choose to use your own OpenAI API key, no screenshots or related data will be sent to us. Instead, they will be processed directly through your API connection.
How We Use Your Information
The information we collect is used solely to:
- Analyze and summarize your work activity;
- Provide you with real-time task tracking insights;
- Generate reports and dashboards related to your work session.
If you opt in, your data may also be used for training our AI models. You can opt out at any time through the settings within the App.
Data Sharing and Storage
Data Transmission: If you choose to share your data with us for processing through OpenAI, screenshots are transmitted securely. Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest to ensure your privacy.
Opt-Out for AI Model Training: You can choose whether to share your data for training purposes. If you opt out, your data will not be used to improve our models or services.
International Data Transfers: As part of providing services, your information may be transferred to, stored, or processed outside of the United States, including countries that may not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction. We ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws, including GDPR and CCPA/CPRA.
Data Retention
We retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide the services offered by the App. Once a work session ends, all screenshots are automatically deleted from your local cache. If you opt into sharing data, it will be stored for the duration of your consent and used only as specified in this policy. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 1 month of receiving your request.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) provide you with certain rights regarding your personal information. These rights include:
- Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell (we do not sell personal information).
- Right to Delete: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information that we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt-Out of Selling: We do not sell personal information. However, if this policy changes, you have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information.
- Right to Correct: You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: You have the right to receive equal service and pricing even if you exercise your privacy rights under CCPA/CPRA.

Security Measures
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest. However, no method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that compromises your personal information, we will notify affected users as required by applicable laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We will take all reasonable steps to mitigate the damage and prevent future breaches, including providing you with details on what happened, what data was affected, and what we are doing to rectify the situation.

Our App does not use cookies or similar tracking technologies. However, if we ever integrate such features for performance monitoring or analytics, you will be notified and given an option to opt out.
Third-Party Service Providers
We may engage trusted third-party service providers to assist in providing our services, such as cloud storage providers, analytics tools, and API service providers like OpenAI. These third parties are contractually obligated to protect your information and may not use your personal data for any purpose other than providing services to us, in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

While we employ security measures to protect your information, the security of your account is also dependent on you. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to protect your login credentials. Do not share your password with anyone, and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
Legal Basis for Processing
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for collecting and using your personal information depends on the specific information concerned and the context in which we collect it. Typically, we collect personal information from you where:
- We need it to provide our services to you;
- You have given us consent to do so;
- It is necessary for our legitimate business interests (such as improving our services); or
- We need to comply with a legal obligation.
Data Portability
You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. If you would like to make such a request, please contact us at info@onop.co.
Automated Decision-Making and Profiling
Our App may use automated decision-making tools, such as AI-generated task summaries, to provide insights and reports on your work sessions. These automated decisions are based solely on the data you provide, and you have the right to contest decisions that are made using automated processing. If you believe an automated decision has been made in error, please contact us at info.onop.co.
California “Shine the Light” Law
California’s “Shine the Light” law allows residents of California to request certain details about the personal information a business shares with third parties for direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. If you have any questions regarding this law, please contact us.

This Privacy Policy is effective as of May 1st 2024. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
